Meet the Decrypt Studios team
Alanna Roazzi-Laforet
Founder
In addition to heading Decrypt Studios, Roazzi-Laforet, serves as Chief Revenue Officer and Publisher of the popular crypto news site Decrypt. Before being recruited for a leadership role at Decrypt, she worked with ConsenSys on decentralized media and identity initiatives. Her career includes stints at the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), Accuen/Omnicom Media Group and Condé Nast. She is also one of the founders of AdToken.
Courtney McDermid
VP of Strategy
Courtney manages client initiatives across the Decrypt Studios commercial, editorial, product, and events teams. She spent over 5 years supporting multiple groups at the IAB Tech Lab, ensuring seamless operations. Previously, she worked with other companies in the advertising space, as well as with real estate businesses.
Eric Chen
VP of Revenue
Eric works with our partners to bring to life their vision and contributions to the metaverse. He spent the last 18 years helping media and tech companies develop their revenue strategies and establish commercial partnerships.
Joshua Roth
VP of Development
Josh is an Emmy-nominated and Clio Award-winning producer and writer. He has 15 years of experience in the film, television, and branded content industries.
Timur Civan
Cinematographer
Born and raised in New York City, Timur Civan has always seen the world through the eyes of an artist. He began pursuing his creative passion as a contemporary sculptor, incorporating video images into some of his works and exploring a variety of innovative art forms, including photography. Becoming a Director of Photography was therefore a natural progression.
After much experimentation with moving images during his brief professional art career, Civan came to the realization that painting an image with light to tell a story was the medium that best expressed his artistic vision. His techniques in cinematography are at the cutting edge of creative imaging, bolstered by his explorations with new and classic lenses, innovative lighting styles, and a deep dive into the latest technologies. Given his naturally inquisitive nature, fascination with science, and acute artistic sensibilities, he is drawn to technically complex commercial and experimental shooting assignments and is highly adept at in-camera special effects, high speed, tabletop, motion control, and macro work.
